Our Families: Stories of Impact

Why Become Part of Early Childhood Services?
Support occurs anywhere children play, learn and grow. Our traveling teams provide individualized programming to promote meaningful participation in everyday life—from the home to the pool to childcare centers and everywhere in between (including preschool and kindergarten).
We use a Primary Service Provider Approach and work alongside families and community partners to guide and support the knowledge and skills needed to include children with disabilities in all aspects of life.
Family Support for Children with Disabilities Program
Our Family Support for Children with Disabilities (FSCD) Program is available as a value-added resource for families enrolled in Early Childhood Services—on an as needed basis.
This program introduces new strategies in everyday family routines to promote their child’s development and participation including feeding, sleeping, communication, behavior, and more.
To apply for our Family Support for Children with Disabilities Program, please connect with your GRIT Education Lead/Teacher. To apply for FSCD funding, visit the Government of Alberta’s FSCD page.

Early Childhood Services Learning Series
Our learning series within the Early Childhood Services Program is a welcoming environment where parents, community partners and GRIT staff can gather to share knowledge and gain insight.
In-person sessions take place every month and follow a school calendar year: from October to June. Sessions are drop-in; no registration is needed.
